Schools across Bridgend & Porthcawl are being encouraged to take part in UK Parliament Week 2026, which takes place from 23rd–29th November.
A number of schools across the constituency have already signed up, but there is still time for others to get involved.
UK Parliament Week is an annual event designed to help children and young people learn more about Parliament and democracy, understand how decisions are made and discover how they can make their own voices heard.
It is completely free for schools to take part, with participating schools receiving resources and ideas to help teachers run activities with pupils during the week.
Chris Elmore MP said:
“It’s great to see schools across Bridgend & Porthcawl already signed up for UK Parliament Week, and I’d love to see even more getting involved.
“I always enjoy visiting our local schools and talking to young people about Parliament. They’re never short of questions or opinions about the things that matter to them!
“UK Parliament Week is a really good opportunity to bring those conversations into the classroom and help young people understand that democracy and Parliament are something they can engage with too.”
