Chris Elmore MP recently visited Coytrahen Watercourse to see the improvements being delivered with support from the UK Government’s Pride in Place funding.
Chris was joined by Cllr John Spanswick, Leader of Bridgend County Borough Council, Cllrs Martyn Jones, Gary Haines and Colin Davies, alongside community leaders, members of Llangynwyd Lower Community Council and representatives from Bridgend Reach.
The visit provided an opportunity to see the improvements being made to the pathway through the Watercourse, a popular local green space used by residents.
The project has received £10,000 through the Pride in Place fund, helping to improve the pathway and make the Watercourse safer and more accessible.
The funding forms part of the £3 million Pride in Place investment secured through Chris’s work with Bridgend County Borough Council leadership and UK Government ministers. The wider programme is supporting improvements to community buildings, public spaces and facilities across Bridgend & Porthcawl.

“I was pleased to work with the Council leadership and UK Government ministers to help secure £3 million of Pride in Place investment for our area, and it’s fantastic to see that funding now being turned into real improvements in communities across Bridgend & Porthcawl.
