Chris Elmore MP visited Bryncethin Community Centre on Friday 18th September to see how £9,720 of Pride in Place funding is delivering practical improvements for the local community.
Chris was joined on the visit by Cllrs Mark John, Tim Thomas, Colin Davies and Martyn Jones, Bridgend County Borough Council Leader Cllr John Spanswick, and representatives from Bryncethin Community Centre and Bryncethin RFC.
The funding is being used to renew the Centre’s external pathway and install solar-powered lighting, improving safety and making the much-used community facility easier to access.
The investment forms part of the UK Government’s Pride in Place Impact Fund, supporting visible, community-led improvements to facilities and public spaces. Chris worked to ensure communities across Bridgend & Porthcawl benefited from the investment.

“Bryncethin Community Centre is an important local hub, used by groups and residents throughout the community. These are practical improvements, but they’ll make a real difference to the people who use the Centre.
“It was great to visit with local councillors and representatives from the Centre and Bryncethin RFC, and to see first-hand how Pride in Place funding is delivering improvements that will benefit the community for years to come.”
