Chris Elmore MP is encouraging residents to discover more about Bridgend’s rich history and heritage as Open Bridgend returns on Saturday 19th September.
Running from 10am until 4pm, the event will see historic buildings, churches and other venues across Bridgend opening their doors, giving people the opportunity to explore some of the fascinating places, people and stories that have shaped the town.
Visitors can also discover the Bridgend’s Blue Plaques exhibition at Carnegie House, celebrating some of the people and places recognised through plaques across Bridgend.
Open Bridgend is organised by the Bridgend & District Local History Society, alongside local organisations, churches, venues and volunteers who help make the event possible.

“Bridgend has an incredibly rich history and heritage and Open Bridgend is a fantastic opportunity to discover more about the people, places and stories on our doorstep.
“Huge credit must go to the Bridgend & District Local History Society and everyone giving their time to make the day possible.
“I’d encourage people to get out and explore on Saturday – you might discover something about Bridgend you never knew before.”
