Chris Elmore MP has praised the “invaluable” work of Bridgend County Care & Repair after joining staff, supporters and local representatives to celebrate the opening of the organisation’s new offices.
Chris attended the official opening at Unit C, Dunraven Business Park on Coychurch Road, Bridgend, on Friday 17 July, alongside the Mayor of Bridgend County Borough, Councillor Heidi Bennett.
Bridgend County Care & Repair helps people remain safe and independent in their own homes. Its support includes advice on repairs and adaptations, assistive technology, home safety improvements, welfare benefits and possible sources of funding. The team can also provide practical support throughout repair or adaptation work.
Speaking after the visit, Chris said:
“Bridgend County Care & Repair provides an invaluable service across our community. The right practical support, home adaptation or piece of equipment can make an enormous difference to someone’s safety, confidence and independence.
“It was a pleasure to meet members of the dedicated team, learn more about the breadth of support they provide and help celebrate the opening of their fantastic new offices.
“I would encourage anyone who thinks that they, a relative or somebody they know could benefit from this support to get in touch with the team and find out how they may be able to help.”
The organisation offers a client-led service combining practical housing expertise with advice, care and support. Its work includes helping people improve the safety, comfort and condition of their homes, as well as liaising with public services and other organisations on their behalf.
