Businesses across Bridgend & Porthcawl are being encouraged to support young people into employment through the UK Labour Government’s Youth Guarantee scheme.

The initiative aims to ensure that every young person has access to employment, training or education opportunities, with employers playing a central role in helping deliver those opportunities locally.

Under the scheme, eligible businesses can access grants of up to £5,000 when hiring young people. Fully funded six-month placements are also available for individuals who have been out of work for more than 18 months, helping employers recruit additional staff while reducing upfront costs.

The Youth Guarantee is intended to help remove barriers to employment while giving young people valuable workplace experience, confidence and skills for the future.

The initiative also provides an opportunity for businesses across Bridgend & Porthcawl to invest in the future local workforce while supporting economic growth within communities.

Chris Elmore MP for Bridgend & Porthcawl said:

“The Youth Guarantee is a real opportunity for businesses across Bridgend & Porthcawl to invest in local talent while strengthening their workforce.

“I’d encourage employers of all sizes to take a look at the support available. This is about creating opportunities for young people while supporting local businesses and helping our communities thrive.”
