I was delighted to welcome constituents from Bridgend & Porthcawl to the Houses of Parliament in Westminster on Monday 20th April as part of my spring bus trip.

Since I was first elected as MP for the former Ogmore constituency, I’ve hosted an annual parliamentary bus trip to give people a chance to see democracy in action. Now representing Bridgend & Porthcawl, I’m proud to continue this tradition. The trips have become so popular that I will now be running them twice a year.

This year’s group had a fantastic day. They enjoyed a guided tour of the historic Houses of Parliament, visiting the House of Commons and House of Lords and learning about the fascinating history of Westminster. We started in Westminster Hall, where I was able to greet everyone and share some interesting stories – did you know Henry VIII once played tennis there?

After the tour, many of the group spent time exploring London, with some heading to the National Maritime Museum and others enjoying the city’s shopping and cultural attractions.

It was a real pleasure to meet so many constituents.. Trips like this provide a unique insight into our democracy and history. Experiencing Parliament first-hand and exploring London together really makes for a special day.

I’ll be organising another bus trip later this year, so if you’d like to join, keep an eye on my Facebook page and check my website for details. I’d encourage anyone interested to book early—these trips fill up fast!
