Chris Elmore MP recently visited the Ty Hafan charity shop on John Street, Porthcawl, to meet the dedicated team and learn more about the vital work they do in supporting children with life-limiting conditions and their families.
Ty Hafan is widely recognised for providing specialist palliative care for children and young people up to the age of 18, alongside invaluable emotional and practical support for their families. The charity’s services make a real difference across Wales and here in Bridgend & Porthcawl, ensuring help is there when families need it most.
During his visit, Chris Elmore praised the shop staff and volunteers for their commitment and highlighted the important role Ty Hafan’s shops play in raising funds and engaging the community.
Chris Elmore MP said:
“It was a pleasure to meet the team at the John Street shop and see first-hand the difference they make. The shop not only raises vital funds for Ty Hafan, it supports the local community, our local economy, and is a great place to find bargains! I encourage everyone to pop in and see the amazing work for themselves.”
Ty Hafan is proud to count Her Royal Highness, Princess Catherine, the Princess of Wales, as its patron. The charity provides care both at its hospice in the Vale of Glamorgan and within communities, hospitals, and schools across Wales.
Chris Elmore also expressed his gratitude to the shop team, encouraging local residents to support Ty Hafan by visiting the shop — whether to donate items, volunteer, or browse the wide range of goods on offer.
