Chris Elmore, MP for Bridgend & Porthcawl, visited the team at Porthcawl Gin last week to catch up on progress at their brand-new seafront outlet – home to the soon-to-launch Porthcawl Distillery Experience.
Chris previously visited the award-winning distillery last year, not long after the 2024 General Election. Since then, the business has gone from strength to strength, recently being named Start-Up Company of the Year at the Wales Food and Drink Awards. Their new venue on Porthcawl’s promenade, located on the edge of the growing Cosy Corner development, is set to open in the coming weeks and promises to be a major draw for both locals and visitors.
Speaking after the visit, Chris said:
“It’s fantastic to see the progress Chris and Glenn have made at Porthcawl Gin. Their hard work and passion have created not just a brilliant local product, but a business that’s putting Porthcawl on the map. Supporting small businesses like theirs is vital for strengthening our local economy across Bridgend & Porthcawl. I can’t wait to visit again when the Distillery Experience is up and running.”
Chris continues to champion local enterprise through his Business of the Week campaign on Facebook, where he highlights outstanding local businesses from across the constituency. The campaign aims to celebrate small business success and encourage community support for the local economy.
If you’re a business owner in the Bridgend & Porthcawl constituency and would like to be featured, Chris is always keen to hear from you. Please get in touch by emailing [email protected].
