Charities, community groups and organisations across Bridgend & Porthcawl are being encouraged to attend a Funding Advice Day on Friday 27 February 2026, taking place at The Hi-Tide in Porthcawl.

The free event is being organised by Chris Elmore MP, alongside Sarah Murphy MS (Bridgend & Porthcawl) and Huw Irranca-Davies MS (Ogmore). It will bring together a wide range of funding bodies to offer practical advice and guidance on securing financial support.

Representatives from key organisations including the National Lottery Community Fund, Sport Wales, Bridgend Association of Voluntary Organisations (BAVO), Wales Council for Voluntary Action (WCVA), National Churches Trust, and the Principality Future Generations Fund, among others, will be available to speak directly with attendees. The event is aimed at organisations seeking grant funding, as well as those looking for advice on funding opportunities and application processes.

The annual event is designed to help local organisations grow and thrive by giving them direct access to funding expertise. He added that previous Funding Advice Days, held when he represented Ogmore, helped local groups secure hundreds of thousands of pounds in funding, enabling them to deliver new projects, strengthen communities and support vital local services.

The Funding Advice Day will run from 10am to 12pm and will include opportunities for one-to-one advice and networking.
