Following the tremendous success of the Easter Egg Collection earlier this year, Chris Elmore, MP for Bridgend & Porthcawl, is proud to launch a new community initiative: the Back-to-School Stationery Collection 2025, in partnership with Bridgend Foodbank and Awen Libraries.
The campaign aims to support local children and young people by ensuring they have the essential supplies they need to start the new school year with confidence. Residents across the Bridgend and Porthcawl constituency are encouraged to pick up a few extra stationery items while shopping and donate them at one of the designated local drop-off points.
Donation Locations:
-
Aberkenfig Library
-
Bridgend Library (Halo Centre)
-
Pencoed Library
-
Porthcawl Library
-
Sarn Library
Final date for donations: Monday, 11th August 2025
The collection has been launched early to allow Bridgend Foodbank’s dedicated team of volunteers enough time to sort and distribute the items to families ahead of the new school term.
Items needed include:
Pens, pencils, highlighters, notebooks, rulers, rubbers, school bags, calculators, and geometry sets. All items should be new. Every donation, big or small, will be gratefully received.
Chris Elmore MP said:
“Starting a new school year should be an exciting time, not a stressful one. This campaign is about making sure every child in our community has what they need to learn, grow, and thrive. I know how generous our local community is, and I’m confident this initiative will make a real difference to families who need a little extra support this summer.”
This initiative is a fantastic opportunity to come together as a community and support the next generation as they head back to school this September.
