Chris Elmore MP hosted his tenth annual Funding Advice Day on Friday 27th February at the Hi Tide in Porthcawl — and it was the busiest event to date.
With more funders, community groups, charities, and organisations attending than ever before, the day was productive, energising, and full of valuable conversations. The event continues to provide a unique opportunity for local groups across Bridgend, Porthcawl, and the wider Bridgend County Borough to connect directly with major funders and access vital financial support.
Funders and supporting organisations included The National Lottery Community Fund, The National Lottery Heritage Fund, Arts Council of Wales, Sport Wales, Wales Council for Voluntary Action, Comic Relief, and many others. Chris Elmore MP said:
“It’s incredible to see how much this event has grown over the past decade. Reaching our tenth year is a real milestone, and in that time hundreds of local groups have benefitted, securing hundreds of thousands of pounds to deliver projects that make a lasting difference in our communities. This year’s event was our biggest yet, bringing together an inspiring range of charities, voluntary groups and community organisations alongside an exceptional pool of funders. I hope that many new links have been made and that the organisations who attended will see real, tangible benefits to help them grow.”
During the opening of the event, Chris Elmore MP expressed his sincere thanks to the Hi Tide for their support in hosting the event, as well as to Huw Irranca-Davies MS for Ogmore and Sarah Murphy MS for Bridgend & Porthcawl for their continued backing. He also thanked all funders, local community groups, charities, and organisations who attended and contributed to making the day such a success.
