Each week, the National Lottery raises around £30 million for Good Causes, supporting projects that strengthen communities, empower local sports clubs, drive environmental action, champion creative talent, support older people, and help young people reach their potential.
Since the National Lottery began in 1994, more than £39 million has been awarded to Good Causes across Bridgend & Porthcawl — part of over £50 billion invested nationwide. Much of this support has gone to smaller charities with annual incomes under £500,000, helping sustain vital grassroots organisations at the heart of local communities.
National Lottery Good Causes is now encouraging organisations across Bridgend & Porthcawl to apply for funding, with opportunities available in arts, culture, community development, sport, and heritage.
Chris Elmore MP said:
“National Lottery funding has directly strengthened our communities — from revitalising community centres and supporting grassroots sports teams to protecting our cultural heritage. Most importantly, it helps people across Bridgend & Porthcawl access the opportunities and support they need. I encourage local groups to apply and make the most of these funds.”
