The festive season is just around the corner, and that means it’s time for one of our favourite local traditions to return — Chris Elmore MP’s “12 Days to Christmas” online advent calendar!

Every year, Chris invites local choirs from across Bridgend and Porthcawl, including school choirs, community groups, and youth ensembles, to take part in something truly special in the run-up to Christmas.

Each morning during the countdown to Christmas, Chris shares a festive performance video from a local choir on his Facebook page, helping spread some seasonal cheer and showcasing the incredible musical talent we have right here in our community.

This much-loved feature is all about celebrating community spirit — something that Bridgend and Porthcawl are known for.

Many choirs have already signed up to take part this year, including Newton Primary School in Porthcawl, Sing With Us Bridgend Choir, Curtain Up Youth Theatre, and Choirs for Good Bridgend.

Chris said:

“This is one of my favourite things to do each year. We have some truly amazing choirs and singing groups across our community, and this is a great way to celebrate their talent and bring a bit of festive joy to everyone. It’s all about coming together and sharing the Christmas spirit.”

Chris is now inviting more local choirs, school singing groups, musical directors, and choristers to get involved.
