Chris Elmore MP for Bridgend & Porthcawl will soon be launching his annual Small Business Saturday campaign, which celebrates and supports the independent businesses that keep local our communities thriving.
Small Business Saturday takes place on the first Saturday of every December (this year Saturday 7th December) and encourages people to shop local and back the small businesses that make such a big difference to our towns and villages — especially in the lead-up to Christmas.
Across Bridgend & Porthcawl, local businesses offer everything from skilled services and local produce to unique products and experiences. They create jobs, boost the local economy and help sustain the character and identity of our communities.
Chris has long been a strong advocate for small businesses, regularly promoting local traders, visiting independent shops and highlighting their work through his social media channels. His annual campaign aims to showcase as many of these businesses as possible and encourage residents to discover what’s on their doorstep.
This year’s campaign will launch in November and will feature a range of local businesses including Divine on John Street in Porthcawl, Mount Pleasant Farm Shop and Shed Centre Wales in Cefn Cribwr, The Welsh Honey Company in Bridgend and The Station in Coychurch.

Businesses taking part will be featured across Chris’s social media throughout November as part of his campaign to promote local enterprise and encourage people to shop local.
