Chris Elmore MP has welcomed the announcement by Bridgend-based housing association Valleys to Coast to transform Wyndham House in the heart of Bridgend town centre into its new group headquarters — calling it “a fantastic step forward in our shared mission to regenerate our town centre.”

The plans, which were unveiled at the most recent meeting of the Bridgend Regeneration Working Group — a group set up earlier this year by Chris Elmore MP — include transforming the four-storey Wyndham House into a vibrant mixed-use space. The project will bring 300 staff into the town centre, along with a café-style reception, eight one-bedroom apartments, and new commercial units to support local businesses.

The Bridgend Regeneration Working Group brings together local councillors, traders, business owners, organisations and stakeholders who all share a common goal — to work together to improve and regenerate Bridgend town centre.

Chris Elmore MP said:
“This really is great news — not just for Valleys to Coast, but for the future of Bridgend town centre. Projects like this show exactly what’s possible when ambition and collaboration come together.
The transformation of Wyndham House will boost footfall, create jobs, provide homes, and give local businesses new opportunities to thrive.

Regeneration of our town centre won’t happen overnight, but such a project is real sign of progress, and it sends a strong signal of confidence for Bridgend’s potential. Ever since I was elected last year, I have beat the drum for town centre regeneration and I look forward to continuing to work closely with Valleys to Coast, and all partners, as the project develops.”

Valleys to Coast said its redevelopment of Wyndham House will support its own growth plans and contribute to wider regeneration efforts across the town and county. The organisation plans to shape the project with input from staff, customers and the wider community.

Valleys to Coast currently manages over 6,000 affordable homes across Bridgend and Rhondda Cynon Taf and continues to invest in building a better future for its residents and the region.
