Chris Elmore MP recently welcomed a group of local residents from the Bridgend & Porthcawl constituency to the Houses of Parliament during his summer coach trip to London on Tuesday 8th July.

The day kicked off with a guided tour of the historic Palace of Westminster, where attendees explored key parts of the building including the House of Commons chamber, Central Lobby, and the centuries-old Westminster Hall. The tour offered a fascinating look behind the scenes of one of the UK’s most iconic landmarks, giving visitors the chance to see where important decisions are made and learn more about how Parliament works.

After the tour, the group joined Chris for a Q&A session to talk about his role as their MP and how he represents their views in Westminster. It was a great opportunity to ask questions, learn more about the workings of Parliament, and hear directly from Chris about the work he does on behalf of people across Bridgend and Porthcawl.

Speaking after the visit, Chris said:
“It’s always a pleasure to welcome constituents to Westminster and give them the opportunity to see how Parliament works from the inside. These visits are a great way for constituents to learn more about our democratic system, ask questions, and understand how their voices are heard in Parliament. I’m grateful to everyone who joined us and made the day such a success.”

This summer visit followed the success of last year’s Christmas trip, where many people enjoyed a day out in London, with some even catching a West End show after visiting Parliament.

Another coach trip is already being planned for December 2025 – a brilliant chance to explore London, do some Christmas shopping, and take part in another visit to Westminster.
