Chris Elmore MP has convened the first meeting of the Bridgend Regeneration Working Group, bringing together local voices to support the transformation of Bridgend town centre.

The group met on Friday 21st March, following months of constructive discussions with key stakeholders. The initiative reflects one of Chris’s key campaign pledges during the General Election — to do everything he can to support the regeneration of Bridgend.

The Working Group brings together a broad and diverse mix of local charitable organisations, businesses, third-sector groups, market traders, and representatives from Bridgend County Borough Council. While each group brings a unique perspective, they are united by a shared goal: to help Bridgend flourish as a thriving, welcoming town centre that meets the needs of residents, businesses, and visitors alike.

Together, the group will develop a collaborative approach to regeneration, ensuring that the town continues to evolve and grow in line with the aspirations of the local community.

Speaking after the meeting, Chris Elmore MP said:

“Bridgend has so much potential, and through collaboration, we can develop meaningful strategies that will make a real difference.

The enthusiasm and dedication of those involved in this group demonstrates just how much people care about the future of Bridgend town centre. I am committed to working alongside them to ensure Bridgend thrives.”

Chris extended his thanks to everyone who took part in the first meeting and contributed valuable insights. He emphasised that this is just the beginning of a concerted effort to deliver real, long-lasting change for Bridgend.
